The truth is that Palestine is no more real than Never-Never Land. The first time the name was used was in 70 A.D. when the Romans committed genocide against the Jews, smashed the Temple and declared the land of Israel would be no more. From then on, the Romans promised, it would be known as Palestine. The name was derived from the Philistines, a Goliathian people conquered by the Jews centuries earlier. Romans also tried to change the name of Jerusalem to Aelia Capitolina, but that didnt work.

I know it bothers you that Israel, after repeated warnings to stop the over 10,000 rockets, and in light of the Hamas charter, which calls for Israel\'s destruction point blank, finally reacted, as any soverign nation would. And I know you cannot see that Hamas\' use of their civilians as propoganda human shields (even though when used like that, they are no longer protected as civilians by international law) was the cause of the large numbers of deaths.

Indeed, there is no such a thing like a Palestinian people, or a Palestinian culture, or a Palestinian language, or a Palestinian history. There has never been any Palestinian state, neither any Palestinian archaeological find nor coinage. The present-day Palestinians are an Arab people, with Arab culture, Arabic language and Arab history. They have their own Arab states from where they came into the Land of Israel about one century ago to contrast the Jewish immigration.
